Lazy Saturday

It's 3:00 pm, and I am in my sweat pants and ready to spend the rest of the day on the couch watching the movies I rented from Blockbuster (The Women & The Soloist) and read (Buster's Midnight Cafe). Flash and I have the house to ourselves while Dan goes off to Southwestern to enjoy free beer the Homecoming festivities. I've picked up my race packet for tomorrow and am excited to relax for the rest of the day. Ah, I love lazy Saturday's.

I decided against "racing" the 5k at Southwestern this morning, and instead to pace Dan. We finished in 24:41, which ironically I won my age group with that time, even though it's over 4 minutes slower than my usual 5K times (no offense Dan). How did the pacing go you ask? As expected, Dan became
angry as hell annoyed with me by mile 1.5 as I told him to get his ass moving up the hill and pick up the pace. This is the second time I've paced him in a race - the last one being last Thanksgiving when I yelled at him for getting passed by a pregnant lady. Tough love my friends, tough love.

Happy Saturday! Tomorrow is race 2 of the distance challenge: Run for the Water 10 miler.
